Ribs and Rumps

A bike cruise down to the Gold Coast over the weekend to enjoy the hinterlands brought us to a new place Mr food hunter's brother had heard about through friends; Ribs and Rumps located on the marina mirage.  There is seating indoors and out, but the best place is outdoors to enjoy the views of the boats and water.

The star of the menus are the Ribs (beef, lamb and pork) and Steaks, as well as a few other choices for those looking for something different.  It was nice to see that there are combo dishes available too as we were really keen to try a bit of everything after spying other diners plates!

Just a few drinks, non alcoholic of course when riding :-P
Full rack order of lamb ribs

Beef ribs and a half chicken combo

Pork ribs, beef ribs and 200g rump combo... heart attack!
All the cuts of meat are treated the same i.e. basted in sauce and then grilled to order.  The sauce was sweet and had all the elements of a good BBQ sauce.  Everything was grilled perfectly, all of our meats were wonderfully tender and had nice bits of char-ness too. Lamb ribs was a new experience and surprisingly they were very nice, meaty and tender.

Our only minor gripe of the day was the service, which was very friendly but a little forgetful as we had to make a couple of reminders about missing drinks.  All in all, I would have to rate this as one of the best ribs joints so far.  A definite return visit is in order!
