Nest Cafe

This post was meant to be about 3 weeks back but it was in someway forgotten being caught up with other posts. Nest Cafe is part of a block of units and located down a very quiet lane away from heavy traffic. We were there on a weekday lunch and their main patrons were business people from around the area. It was past 2pm but there were many who came in for takeaways.

The Chicken Lasagne with Pumpkin, Spinach & Bechamel sauce came served with chips and salad. It was a generous slice of homey goodness though a little under seasoned. For $14.90, it made for a satisfying wholesome lunch.

The Fresh Chicken Salad is composed of Roast Tomatoes, Pumpkin, Fetta , Pinenuts, Basil and Spinach. The dressing was of a mixed balsamic & pesto. Good flavours and combination of ingredients there but would have much preferred if the chicken were to be strips or a few thick slices instead of bland 'sandwich' type chicken bits.

The Nest Cafe has this really relaxed atmosphere about it. Maybe its the quiet corner where its at & under shady trees?? One could sit out at the sheltered afresco area for a long time whiling away the afternoon though there is no view to speak of. The menu is simply good comfort food with a fair share of burgers, sandwiches, pasta, pizzas and all the usual crowd pleasers....
